The purpose of the VacuVin® Wine Saver Pump is to remove air from a previously opened bottle of wine. The reduction of air in the bottle retards the oxidation of the wine which makes it possible to store the wine while maintaining the wine's freshness for later consumption. This is accomplished with the help of a unique bottle stopper which maintains the vacuum seal.
